May the Force Be With You…

Hi everyone! I’m linking up with Running with Spoons for Thinking Out Loud Thursdays…it’s been a while since I’ve joined in this link up (or any link ups for that matter) so I’m glad to be back with some random thoughts!

Thinking-Out-Loud2 (1)

So how many people went to see Star Wars this weekend?!? I did, obviously, because I’m a HUGE fan of anything Star Wars. The movie was great in my opinion but left me with a lot of questions, most importantly Who is Rey? If you’ve seen it, feel free to tell me what you think, but I won’t ruin it for those who haven’t seen it. I will tell you that Kylo Ren is a new favorite bad guy- I’ve always been partial to the bad guys.

Kylo Ren- doesn't he look awesome!?

We went to CineBistro to see it- have you ever been to one? I’m not sure where they are located outside my area, but it’s the only way I like to see movies now. The seats are big and spacious, you reserve them ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about ‘finding’ a good seat, and the food- oh my gosh! It’s a little pricey (which is probably why we don’t go to the movies that much anymore- last time was to see Jurassic Park over the summer) but totally worth it for the comfort and service you get.

That was the first time in a long time that I’ve stayed up past 10- even on a Friday! The movie didn’t start until 11 pm so we didn’t get to bed until around 2-2:30 am. I didn’t get much sleep because Saturday morning I had to meet up with my friends for our picture with Santa at the International Mall in Tampa. We decided we wanted a Santa pic this year and my one friend scheduled it at 10am (next time I’ll schedule it lol). It came out cute and I’m glad we did it.

There was a HUGE line- we waited almost an hour just to get the picture. Then we got lunch at Rise Pies in the food court before I had to head home to work. I almost made it in time- until I got stuck in traffic one exit away from my exit. Since they built the new mall off that exit it’s made it hellish to navigate- especially the weekend before Christmas!

Sunday was the first day in a while that I’ve had absolutely nothing planned. It felt amazing actually. The past few weeks I’ve been racing, traveling or volunteering so I’ve spent every Sunday doing one of those things and haven’t had time to really stop and rest. This past Sunday I did nothing for most of the day. Literally- I took my little brother to work in the morning and came home and did nothing. It was glorious. In the afternoon I went to work out. I did an hour of cardio and lifting for my chest, back and arms.

This week has just been insane- I’ve worked 3 double shifts (both jobs) already and another one tomorrow- yes, on Christmas Eve. We do dinner at my mom’s Thursday and then Friday at my dad’s because my parents are divorced. I never understood why people didn’t like having two of everything- I love having two Christmas dinners and double the presents- haha! Seriously, though, I haven’t been in the Christmas spirit much yet. I’d say it’s because it doesn’t feel like Christmas around here (does it ever feel like Christmas in Florida?) but I’m used to the weather, so maybe it’s because I’ve had a super busy month and not much time to relax!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a beautiful holiday (whatever you celebrate) and enjoys their long weekend with family or loved ones!

How was your weekend? Did you see Star Wars yet (or are you planning to)? When was the last time you had your picture taken with Santa?

  1. I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies (she says while crawling under a chair). So I won’t be seeing this one either.
I haven’t had a santa picture in a long time. I almost got one when I was in San Antonio but I felt bad when there was a line up of kids behind me.

    1. Ahhhh! Lol but they are so good! There was a little kid behind us screaming the ENTIRE TIME. I’m not good with kids screaming so I wanted to smack her, but I think her parents should have taken her away from Santa. She obviously wasn’t into getting her picture taken!
