Ultimate Coffee Date: March

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in this link up, but I’m excited to be back linking up with Deborah, Coco and Lynda! Ultimate Coffee Date is one of my favorite link ups but I’m bad with putting myself on a schedule. Really it has to do with how much I’m working- my schedule isn’t set so some weeks I could work a lot of long hours and other weeks I only work one or two long days! *Life of a retail manager* Anyway…

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…by the time you read this, I’ll have finished Best Damn Race Orlando 10k (hopefully)! I signed up for this a little last minute, but I knew I wanted to have a 10k on my schedule for this spring. I really like the 10k distance- it’s the perfect blend of endurance and speed. By the way- there’s a Starbucks right on the corner of the park where this race is run…want to come meet me?

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’m excited but sad that spring is almost officially here! Part of me is excited because the days are getting longer which means I’ll have more daylight to run in. My favorite park isn’t very well lit on one side and is actually a little creepy in the dark! Part of me is sad because it means the high temperatures will soon be returning to Florida. That’s one reason I wanted to pack my race schedule early this year- get in as much as possible before it becomes ridiculously hot!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…life as a retail manager can get a little crazy and (sometimes) annoying. I was scheduled to participate in Battlefrog Tampa next weekend but was informed a week ago that I couldn’t have that day off because we were supposed to be busy with a huge event in my area. Instead I’ll be doing Savage race the weekend after that. Luckily I was able to replace it with another event in the area, but I wouldn’t have been too happy if I wasn’t able to! #adulting

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I need a better organization system for my workout attire! I have half a drawer full of Pro Compression socks and another half full of Skirt Sports product alone! Not to mention the other brands I used to wear…

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…something I miss doing is paddleboarding! I’d like to go again once the water warms up. I used to do that all the time and it was so fun! I remember we saw a manatee once and I thought it was the Loch Ness Monster- overactive imagination much??

That’s pretty much my life in a nutshell right now! What’s going on with you? Anything exciting coming up on your schedule? Are you looking forward to spring?

  1. Oh, I love these types of posts. I didn’t know there was a link-up for them! How fun!

I’m a little sad that spring is coming too because I love the winter but I’m also so ready for more sunlight and warm weather. I don’t live in Florida though so I can see how you’re not excited for the heat and humidity.

I hear ya about working in retail. It’s definitely inconvenient sometimes. Sorry you have to miss the event you had planned.

I’ve wanted to try paddleboarding for a long time! Maybe you’ll inspire me to do so!

    1. Paddle boarding is very fun you should definitely give it a try! This is a fun link up and it’s open to anyone check it out next month- first Saturday of every month.

    1. Haha I’ll gladly trade! I’ll keep this nice 50s and 60s weather and send you some of the 80s and 90s!

  2. I have also wanted to try paddle boarding! I live in Nebraska, so I will have to wait until later summer to try it (if I can get my hands on a board!)

I’m excited about spring and summer. While I don’t enjoy the super hot days, I do enjoy not having to agonize about what layers to wear running.

    *I love your race outfit!

    1. Living in Nebraska I can see how it would be hard to find a place to paddle board! We live about five minutes from several beaches but it gets kind of annoying to get out there with all the tourists and traffic.

For us summer is horrible because of the heat and humidity combined. If it weren’t for the high humidity it wouldn’t be that bad! Hopefully that part isn’t an issue for you lol.
