This weekend was full of active lifestyle adventures for me! Friday wasn’t much because I worked a double- but it was my last double on a Friday for the next few weeks, so yay!
Saturday morning I was in charge of the training group from my store. Both the other coaches were racing this past weekend, so I’m their alternate. I’ve also been asked to get RRCA certified to coach because there’s a “good chance” I’ll get my own training group once I do! Super excited about that, now I just need to find a training class I can get to!
Anyway, I was at the store by 5:45 am to meet the girls in the training group. They were doing anywhere from 8-13 miles that morning. Only 5 girls showed up because most of them were out of town or racing, but it was a nice little group. Since we were all doing separate mileage, we headed out from the store and each ran our own distances. I ended up doing 4.5 miles because I wanted to make sure I was back at the store in time for when they got back. We leave our stuff at the store and lock it and I have to be back to unlock it for them.
After my 4.5 miles, I went across the street to First Watch and got their Lemon Ricotta pancake breakfast. It was delicious!
Then after I got home and showered and changed, I headed up to Clearwater to meet my friend Lauren to hang out and go kayaking. It has been years since I kayaked- and honestly the last time I did I remember it being kind of a disaster. I lost control of the boat and ended up running right into the marshes and a spider got on me…it was bad haha. This time I did well though! We kayaked from the Dunedin Causeway across to Caladesi Island State Park and hung out on the beach for a few hours. The water was nice and cool over there so it was a refreshing change from the heat outside.
After that we went to Frenchy’s cafe and had a late lunch. I was so tired by the time I got home that afternoon that I pretty much went straight to bed! I was asleep by 7:30! You know you’re getting old when…
I didn’t go to training group this Sunday because I was planning on going to a Pure Barre class with my mom. We hadn’t been in two weeks since we first went because our schedules just typically don’t sync up during the week for us to go. This one didn’t feel as hard as the first one- or maybe I’m just getting used to the moves? They had some really cute clothes in the studio from Beyond Yoga- I hate that they are so expensive because I really wanted to buy some! I didn’t get any pictures during class because I forgot my phone. Oops.
Then I worked- the first Sunday I’ve worked in a loooong time. Typically I don’t work on Sundays but my manager asked me because she had other plans and I said as long as I had Saturday off so I could chill that it was fine. It was actually kind of a boring day at work- it was rather slow and nothing much was going on. Speaking of “ON,” I wore my new ON shoes to work today- they are so comfortable! It’s called the Cloud- it’s marketed as a running shoe, but I haven’t tried to run in them yet. I typically just wear them as a lifestyle/everyday type shoe and they are fabulous!
When I got home from work, for some reason brownies sounded delicious, so I made some of those. And did laundry. You know, adulting stuff.
Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend this past weekend! And we are now only two weeks away from the start of my race season- I’m pretty excited to get back out there and earn a new medal!
